A Baptism Celebration

Have you been baptized to demonstrate your new faith in Christ?  On Sunday, November 14, we will celebrate the baptism of a large number of new believers and tell their personal stories!  Students 5th grade and older to be baptized will meet on Sunday, October 24, at 9:30 am in the Student Center for a baptism class, and adults will meet on October 31 at 9:30 am in the Next Step Room.  If you need to be baptized, please contact David Fedele at .

The annual Fall Retreat will be held November 12-13 at Texas Star Ranch & Retreat in Weatherford, TX.  Registration continues through October 29. The cost is $50 for a bunk room, or $65 for a shared king room.  3 meals are included.  Please register at the Women's Kiosk, Church Office, or by contacting Nicole Nehring at .

Sweets and Treats 2010

Fall Festival!

Trunk or Treat, our annual outdoor fall festival, will take place on Sunday, October 31, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.  The festival will include outdoor games and rides, and lunch will be available from several food vendors.  Invite a special guest!

Please bring your donations of individually wrapped candy to any hallway receptacle or the Church Office.
Women on MissionsMissions Prayer Group

The ladies prayer group Women on Missions, recently organized by our missions ministry, will meet this month on Sunday, October 17, at 5:30 pm.  The meeting will take place at the Langston's home at 3305 Sprindletree Dr in Grapevine.  This group prays and corresponds with missionaries, and encourages women to get involved in international and local mission efforts.  For more information, contact Daneta Sylvester at .
City Council News

Our local City Council and the FBCC family have been in the news in recent days due to the application of Sigel's Liquor Store to locate next to The Jungle, our children's facility.  During the City Council meeting last week, many of our members expressed opposition to this proposal and did so in a graceful and respectful manner.  The final vote on the application will occur on Tuesday, October 19.  Due to our written opposition and the fact that our land represents 20.1% of the adjoining land, the City Council will be required to have 6 of their 7 members in favor of the application in order for it to pass.  As of October 6, the City Council had received only 63 letters of opposition.  To make your convictions known, please address your correspondence as noted below.  To view details, click here.

Thank you for giving over $500,000 to the new Student Center in the last six months.  Our giving now tops $2, 370,000 toward our goal for groundbreaking of $3,600,000.  The new facility for up to 500 students will rest immediately behind the current student center and extend toward the creek area.
